Month 8 and 9

I'm 9 and a half months old now! I'm so active, my parents barely have time to do normal parent things! I speed around the house on my two feet. Walking is fun! Crawling is fun too.

I get really sad when they don't let me play in the fridge or the dishwasher. I also don't like it when the close the baby gate on me and go downstairs for any reason. I also don't like apples....well...my stomach and butt don't like them...especially my butt. I don't eat apples any more.

Helping mommy and daddy buy a new car. Everyone was amazed when they found out I was only 9 1/2 months old!

My first balloon! From the car guys. I love it!

I love Daddy!

Sometimes I get really tired while helping in the library at church.

Sometimes daddy helps me with my 2 hour nap that usually starts halfway through sacrament meeting.

Month 7

Time sure does fly! I'm seven months old and growing bigger and smarter every day! I discovered how to open dresser drawers and kitchen cabinets. Daddy had to babyproof all the cabinets so I wouldn't get into things I shouldn't....like chemicals. Daddy was nice though and left the lowest drawer open for me so I can get into all the tupperware lids! There are usually 3-10 lids out on the floor at any given time now. I discovered that I can put my hand on a lid and then I can scoot really easy without having to lift up my hand! But then I get stuck when I get to the slightly higher dining room floor or rug.

I really like mushy sweet potatoes and apples! They are my favorite. I also like bananas. Avocados are gross. I really like to chew on the spoons and try to get them away from mommy and daddy as fast as I can.

I also get really excited when I see Baron. He is a really patient dog. He lets me crawl on him, grab his fur, smack him, and pet him. He doesn't like it when I try to steal his blanket though. The other day, we cuddled while I ate. He's so warm and furry!

It's starting to get much warmer now so we like to take walks. Sometimes mommy or daddy carries me. Other times I'm in the stroller. Either way, I enjoy it...until I fall asleep.
Usually at church I like to crawl around. I hang out in the foyer and play with the other babies. I'm learning that other babies like the same things I do, but I'm still too young to learn to share.

William is in the red stripes.

Month 6

Almost  7 months! I grow so fast! Mommy and Daddy can barely comprehend how fast I grow and learn. One of my favorite things to do is help Mommy and Daddy figure out what things they need to put out of reach. Cords are my favorite. I also LOVE the pantry and fridge, but most especially the dishwasher.

I'm an expert crawler now and a pretty good furniture cruiser, although I still fall and bonk myself occasionally. I am getting better at sitting down instead of just toppling over. Daddy hung the baby gate at the top of the stairs, but once or twice a day they will let me crawl up the stairs for practice. I'm really good at it! Don't worry though, they are inches away just in case I do slip.

Things I like: almost all baby food, holding my bottle while eating, crawling, getting into things, my Peek-A-Who book, the Cukoo Clock (ESPECIALLY on the hour and 30 minutes past the hour), diaper change bear (who keeps me entertained so I don't roll over while Mommy and Daddy are changing my diaper), clapping my hands, the dog

Things I don't like: car seat...usually, prunes, the food blender, other people clapping when I'm sleeping

4-6 Month Pictures

Daddy had to take a picture to see if I was still awake.

This is what daddy saw first...
and this is what he found when he turned the corner.  Turn your back for one minute and suddenly a baby gets your scarf and rolls around in it.

I love sitting in boxes and baskets!
Mommy's Grammy made this sleeper, and daddy says it makes me look like a wizard.
I like chewing on mommy's arm.
Daddy's chin makes a great pillow.

I'm still figuring out how bottles work.

Aquariums, Baby Gates, and Peas!!!

We're coming up on six months old, and boy is this little boy busy figuring the world out.  Mommy and Daddy are so proud of their little boy for being so strong and so curious.

We took a trip to the aquarium in Baltimore, and it was pretty amazing.  They actually have a very large sea turtle there.  Calypso is missing one of his flippers, which is why he is kept there.  He lives in their artificial reef along with sharks and stingrays and a variety of fish.

William enjoyed being there, though he slept through some of it and spent a good chunk of time just happily chewing on his carrier straps.  He really seemed to enjoy the jellyfish exhibit, though.  Several ladies smiled at him and commented on how curious he was and how fascinated he was with the jellyfish.  It was so much fun to watch him.

If that's not enough to make us proud, we had to hang the baby gate because our little guy is now on the move!  He's unstoppable.  He started scooting backward, then forward, and now he's crawling all around.  He's really amazing, but he's still losing his balance sometimes and he has hit his poor head several times.  Mom especially has a hard time letting him figure things out, and she'd really like to cushion his head with a little baby helmet of some kind.

There have been a couple of other firsts, and seconds!.  First cold, complete with fever!  He got lots of cuddles from mommy and daddy.  Then, just a couple weeks later, second fever!  This time daddy was sick too, so they got to cuddle together and get lots and lots of sleep.
First tooth!  And second tooth!
First solids!  And second.  And third.  This little boy likes everything.  Peas, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples.  He really enjoys eating, and he likes chewing on the spoon too.

We feel so blessed to have this little boy, who is so sweet, so cheerful, and so interested in everything around him.  It's a joy to watch him grow and learn.
